The Destruction of the Amazon Rainforest:
Over 200,000 acres of the rainforest is burned every day. That's over 150 acres burned every minute! Part of the reason the forest is being destroyed is that people get profits from harvesting the unsustainable resources. And the forest is so dry sometimes, that a fire just starts up. Humans and the governments are responsible for most of the destruction, but some destruction is just caused by nature. The destruction has an impact on humans because we need certain plants and animals to make medicines for the sick. Animals are affected by this because they lose their homes and their food sources. They could even become extinct! The destruction has affected the plants because a lot of the plants are becoming extinct.
Efforts to Conserve The Amazon Rainforest:
The conservation has, still is, and will always have rangers watching over the forests to try to keep it from harm. People also plan to protect and purchase forty million acres by 2020. It isn't a very simple matter because you can't possibly watch every section of the forest to be sure it's ok. Some of the issues that the conservationists face are that they know when fires, they have to help control it until other help comes.
