The role omnivores play in a food web is a special role. All omnivores can eat basically anything, including plants and animals. This will give them an advantage to survive or live longer than others since they have so many choices of food.

Name:

Ring tailed Coatimundi

Description:

A coatimundi resembles a raccoon. They are a reddish brown color and are about 27 inches long. They weigh between 7 to 12 pounds, but males tend to be a bit heavier. A coatimundi has a very pointed nose, so it looks a bit strange.

Habitat:

The coatimundi lives in wooded areas and sleep in the trees. They also live in the Amazon Rain Forest and are mainly awake during the day. So that would make them diurnal.

Diet:

The coatimundi eats fruits, and large rodents. Those are their favorites.

Capuchin Monkey

Description:

A capuchin monkey has a slender body with a round head. The head has short hairs at the back that has a darker color than the rest of its body. Also, the capuchin monkey has thumbs opposable to the other fingers and toes.

Habitat:

The capuchin monkey lives in the Amazon Rain Forest.

Diet:

The capuchin monkey eats fruits, insects, leaves, small birds, and sometimes small animals.

Pygmy Marmoset

Description:

A pygmy marmoset is one of the smallest monkeys even living in the world. Their coat is brown, but their tail area is a darker brown.  

Habitat:

The pygmy marmoset lives in the Amazon Rain Forest. 

Diet:

A pygmy marmoset eats sap from trees, spiders, insects, bird eggs, lizards, and fruit.
